Senator Marco Rubio

 that dismal pallid mollusk of a Senator from Florida, really didn't need to "Set an example" by getting the Corona Virus Vaccine this week, he is 49 years old and in perfect health for a repulsive reactionary invertebrate.  He could have made it a point to donate his vaccination to a front line worker, or say MY MOTHER who is 97 years old and in a Nursing Home instead of saving his own miserable ass.  He's devoted four years to fawning on Donald Trump and helping to screw up the Country Beyond Hope of Redress, I suppose he felt he deserved that early vaccination...that he was entitled.

But in fact Senator Rubio is literally leaving his own constituents to die during a pandemic while he leverages his indestructible status to get immunized way ahead of everyone else. He is the Bruce Ismay of US Politics quite frankly, lets hope his constituents hold him accountable...

It seems to me, that,

 Trump is rapidly becoming a spent force in US Politics, he's tried anarchy, threats, childishly overwritten legal briefs but apparently he cannot overthrow an eight million vote lead and a rock solid majority in the Electoral College.  Of course, this is Trump we are talking about, he'll devote every waking moment of his remaining time in office to imposing bad decisions his fellow citizens, that is when he isn't golfing, whining or abusing god-knows-what....

Lets face it, he is old, sick, crazy, toxically indebted to Cthulu Knows Who and legally exposed to an appalling degree...and his luck seems to have run out. All that makes a bad combustible combination.

So I am moving on the presumption that Trump's Star of Destiny has Set for Good, Trumpism though, that is a different matter. Trump is a would be autocrat is every way, save the most impotent, he lacks the political skills, the attention span and necessary guts to foist a vanguard totalitarian party upon us. Lord Knows though, he tried in his own bombastic erratic way. Just remember every constitutional norm Trump defied, every rule he broke, the power he worshipped and abused & any one of a number of GOP Politicians in DC and without were all taking notes.

So I think we will have more concerns about who takes up with Trump's base and who tries to run on a platform promising autocracy & tyranny, in other words who wants to run and Make Trumpism Work.

Put it another way, Mussolini was Adolf Hitler's Patient Thorough Teacher, despite being a clown, a bully, a braggart and ultimately a chump, Il Duce taught the future Reichs Chancellor the dire need for an obedient cadre of street fighters, an all up Secret Police Force, A One Party State Apparat, he also demonstrated to Hitler that the League of Nations could be defied, that one could terrorize civilian populations as a war tactics and to rule the conquered by Pure Force. At the end of the day, all Hitler Did was take what Mussolini had done and put it on a ruthlessly efficient industrialized basis; "Fascism SuperSized" so to speak.

So the issue here is, who shall be Trump's ideological successor, who is gonna end up super sizing Trumpism?  

Over the short term we need to encourage all possible fissures between the Trump Base and the Institutional GOP, we also need to stir up infighting between the Trump Family (especially Junior, Ivanka and Jared Kushner) and whatever personalities may seek to inherit Trump's Mantle...thats my practical advise anyway. My impractical advise is, we are by no means out of the woods yet, we've won a respite with control of the US Presidency soon to be in safe hands, but soon enough we'll be fighting these battles again at least until our opponents crack asunder and there is a realignment in this country.

We'd better make sure they crack first.

Charlie sent the Police Reform Bill Back to the Legislature

 thus keeping peace with the Police Unions and the State GOP, I'm gonna bet we'll never hear about that bill ever again.  He picked a good day to pluck an irksome political thorn from his side, the FDA approved the Pfizer Covid19 vaccine, even as the pandemic spirals on out of control, nationally...I think WCVB finally mentioned the bill's fate some ten minutes in on the 6pm broadcast with no follow up or opinions solicited.

Anyway, I doubt the political stars will be back in alignment for this bill anytime soon, everything is about to  be flooded out by "vaccine politics" and the slow train wreck that is the handoff from Trump to Biden.  It seems a shame because there is a need for change that builds trust without and without communities of color in the Commonwealth. Alas for different reasons the local republicans and democrats fear anything that can be construed as being "anti law enforcement", and so here we are, exactly where I thought we'd be, some six months ago.

If Charlie Baker signs the Police Reform Bill

 that I am sure, the legislative leadership doesn't want him to sign, I'll bet Scott Lively or some other Loonytunes primaries him come 2022...IF Charlie breaks for third term that is.  If he doesn't sign it, the Senate President & the Speaker will probably emit sighs of relief and thank Ghod that Charlie Baker fears the Patrolman's Union more than he fears BLM. If he DOES sign it, that means he thinks it is more important to draw BLM's alleged claws than it is to keep peace with the Police.

But I digress, I don't think Charlie will sign it, thats my prediction.
