Citizen Warren is up in the current polling, and has even taken the lead per the Springfield Republican newspaper.
To think a mere week ago there was a certain amount of hand wringing about the quality of her TV commercials when compared with what Brown is running...which was chiefly footage of the Junior Senator tooling around in the truck he bought to transport his horses from place to place.
Aiyee Scott Brown, "man of the people" indeed, and if the people are the legendary "Horsey Set" so much the better.
Okay all snarkage aside, this is some good news for Citizen Warren after a period of some doubt, clearly some of these numbers are derived from her prime time speech at the DNC, Scott Brown by comparison had to sneak in and out of Tampa like a fugitive Wall Street financier.
A high degree of democratic unity at the street level is probably another contributing factor which is why Brown is pathetically frantic to collect endorsements from every drunken turncoat he can dig up with a "D"next to their name.
For all that this feels like a drumhead tight race, Brown has big bucks to spend on re-election, he has at last what he wants which is name recognition and he remains the only serious republican in recent memory with a consistent lawn sign presence in Middlesex County.
It is an anecdotal & unscientific measure but one worth remembering.
I still think the debates are going to be a decisive factor in this face, a sort of debut literally for both candidates a lot may be sorted out therein.

Scott Brown's "Major Policy Address"
In Randolph yesterday consisted of accusing Citizen Elizabeth Warren of wanting to raise 3.4 Trillion Dollars in new taxes over the next ten years.
Which brings a nice classical McCarthyist note to the campaign I think.
Paul Ryan's veep nod, intellectually speaking wasn't good news for Former State Senator Scott Brown as it pretty much cut off any hope that Romney was gonna track to the middle for the General Election.
Moreover Ryan's nomination means the discussion over the short term will be about cuts, to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid etc etc etc, po' folk's gittin' less, rich folks ridin' high.
Scott Brown really can't afford to get caught up in that narrative given the necessity of his "trudge to the middle".
So in tried and true GOP fashion ( a trick that goes back to Ronald Reagan in fact) Brown starts screaming like a stuck pig about taxes all in an effort to obscure the heartless budget plans of the National Ticket.
Simple eh?
Whether or not it works is another matter, it is notable that after this demagogic eructation, Brown all but fled the scene declining to take any questions from reporters.

Scott Brown...
wants Citizen Elizabeth Warren to release all her job applications and college transcripts in order to prove somehow she never got a McDonald's Happy Meal solely on the basis of her presumed Cherokee Indian ancestry.
I'm still waiting for Former State Senator Brown to release results of his last three I.Q. tests...
But I snark...it has been a good week for our boodling, chiseling, pension grubbing Junior Senator though, thanks to the above "birther" controversy AND the President's pro SSM announcement no one noticed that Scott Brown voted to double student loan interest rates.
Well what can I say?
Families groaning under the weight of student debt, graduates saddled with extortionate interest rates on tuition loans....they don't have nice pricey lobbyists who can bundle phat contribution's to Scott Brown's re-election campaign. So of course, since Scott's "true north" always points toward's Big Money, the college students of the Commonwealth get shafted.
Let me make this brutally clear to all you undergraduates out there, Scott Brown (who loves money the way a hog loves slop) voted to Double Your Liability.
Now what are you gonna do about it?

Citizen Elizabeth Warren is still
holding onto her numbers vis a vis Scott Brown per this Umass Lowell-Boston Herald poll.
This is pretty much a good initial impetus to her fundraising I think, it allows Warren to go out of state a-roaming for Big Ticket Liberal Money.
On the other hand it's just the short of early-good-news that coalesces around a candidate like Elizabeth Warren in a state like Massachusetts. It doesn't mean that the democratic senatorial primary field is gonna start folding their tents, unless money becomes a big problem and some of those candidates can go very very far on very little cashola.
Other that it doesn't mean much...right now.
