The Will't to power...

I've always felt that George Will must answer for quite a lot when his time comes.
Chiefly for reviving a faux English style of dress and deportment that was strictly from hunger back in the salad days of Alice Roosevelt and the Square Deal.
But George can get down wit' da peeps when he wants to, calling in to the Imus Program like a proper jolly fellow.
Alas, Will's Imus appearances generally have that Laura Ingraham aspect to them, too boring to recount in total.
I will however note one complete howler here that require repeating far beyond this tiny blog....
Will kept calling Attorney General John Ashcroft "Ashbrook"...he had to be corrected on this point by Don Imus no less whose corroded wits are the stuff of legend.
Once he had the names sorted out, Will swung into an impassioned defense of Ashcroft's reign at the DoJ citing the "fact" that we've suffered no further terrorist attacks on U.S. soil since 9-11-01 as "proof" the Attorney General is doing a good job.
Get that....nothing has happened to us since 2001, therfore Ashcroft must be behind it all!
Ghod forbid we could be just gettin' lucky...nope Ashcroft has saved us from...nothing...proof of that, nothing has happened.
Maybe Will's wits are starting to dissipate...too young a wife and too much champagne at diplomatic receptions...but last I heard the "anthrax mailer" was still at large....so that's one slight blemish to Ashcroft's happy record of nothingness.
